Getting engaged is one of the biggest milestones in every couples’ relationship! It is an exciting time meant to celebrate your commitment and love for one another. Setting up an engagement* photo session is the perfect way to document some of the earlier memories prior to tying the knot. You get to choose a place that is sentimental to the two of you, or select a brand new location that you love. One of the major benefits of an engagement photoshoot is that it allows you time to get to know your photographer in advanced. You get a sneak preview into one of the artists for your wedding, and will already have a taste of their process. When this happens, we have found that couples that have engagement sessions are more comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera on their wedding day.
Alyssa & Justin had their first date at Spicy’s in Seaside Heights and have been inseparable ever since! Four years, two dogs and a house later Justin popped the question at a bed and breakfast in North Jersey. Alyssa thought they were going away for her birthday and was totally surprised! They went out for a 7 course dinner, at a beautiful restaurant overlooking the water and when they got back to the room there were rose petals in the shape of a heart on the bed, strawberries and champagne set out on the table and twinkle lights around the room. Justin got down on one knee and proposed. He had a camera set up recording the whole thing! You can see their love for each other as soon as you meet them and we are so excited to capture their beautiful wedding day!!!
Jaci & John met at a wedding. They were seated at the same table. John thought Jaci was cute and asked her to dance, Jaci just thought he was being nice because the entire table was trying to get her up to dance all night. They didn’t exchange numbers or anything but stayed in touch on Myspace and Facebook for almost 12 years before running into each other at another wedding where they were seated at the same table! After that wedding, they finally went on their first date. John took Jaci out for wings and beer. Jaci was totally surprised when John proposed two years later while they were apple picking! It was the first day of fall, in the middle of the pandemic but they decided to get out of the house for a bit. Jaci was not expecting it and said all she could think of is OMG I am wearing a mask right now. They both share a love for food, football, hockey, fall and all things dark. Hence the Til Death engagement theme. We are looking forward to their Halloween wedding!
Kacie & Matt were high school sweethearts. They met playing a game of manhunt while Matt’s friends were trying to set him up with one of Kacie’s girlfriends. Fifteen years later the rest is history! Because they were so young when they met, they were together 7 years when Matt proposed. They were going out on a date in Middletown and on the way there Matt told her he wanted to stop at the pet store to look at the dogs. Unbeknownst to Kacie, Matt had purchased her favorite dog, and they brought her outside, handed her to Kacie and said, she’s yours! She was an adorable Irish Bulldog and they named her Daisy. At dinner, Matt proposed during dessert and the ring came out on the dessert tray. There is a special place in my heart for Kacie and Matt. I have had the pleasure of photographing their engagement, their wedding, two pregnancies and both kids as newborns. It’s amazing to document that many meaningful memories for people.
Laura & Rick met at a mutual friends Christmas Party. They are both sweet, kind and fun to be around. They also spend most of their free time at the beach. Every summer they go to Cape Hatteras, NC for vacation. They were dating 5 years when Rick decided to propose by the Lighthouse on Cape Hatteras. A perfect setting for these two beach lovers!
Maria & Anthony were introduced to each other by mutual family friends. They spent their first date on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights. Seven years later Anthony proposed and Maria was far from surprised! Anthony asked her if she wanted to go get ice cream and she said yes, thinking he meant to the place down the street. He then said lets go to Strollos, in Long Branch,(their favorite spot) and suggested she do her hair and makeup. A dead give away for Maria! She said Anthony was nervous and sweating the entire ride, so she just knew he was going to propose. Anthony waited to pop the question as the sun was setting, Maria’s favorite time of day! These two are so cute and funny when they are together, you can tell they are meant for each other. We are looking forward to their gorgeous beach wedding!
Aria & Luke met at a bar in Hermosa beach and it was love at first site. A year later Luke proposed at the top of a mountain after a beautiful hike. He asked her to film him talking and Aria didn’t realize it was a proposal until he dropped out of the frame and got on one knee! She said she just about fell off the cliff with the camera in her hand. It’s amazing that they have this beautiful moment all on tape! 12 years later they are still going strong and even more in love every day. This is one of my most favorite engagement sessions! As you can see they were not afraid to really have some fun for the camera!
