Allyson and Michael’s Engagement Session at Lacey Township High School

The best sessions as always the ones were couples pick a location that means to them to do their engagement session.  There are so many beautiful places in New Jersey to do photos but I find the locations that have history for them, really bring out emotions that you can’t always get in random places.

Allyson and Michael were high school sweethearts.  They attended Lacey Township High School and Michael was on the basketball team.  When we were planning their engagement shoot Allyson told me she was going to reach out to the school to see if we could take some photos in the gym on a weekend no events were taking place.

I was always so used to shooting engagement sessions in parks or on the beach so this was a little out of my comfort zone.  As you get to know me, you will see that although this sometimes causes me anxiety, it’s also extra exciting because you have to be more creative and be ready for all lighting situations. 

Since Michael played basketball, they wanted to take most of their photos on the basketball court.  The school was so accommodating they even gave me a ladder to use so I could get all the photos that I had planned in my mind.  I loved this session and working with Allyson and Michael.  We had a great time shooting and it was really fun to capture their love in the place were it all began.  Here are a few favorites from that day!
